Odd River Crossing Point Stuff

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Odd River Crossing Point Stuff

Post by Marshal Villars »

Okay. Not to complain. :) :) :) :)

I am playing "Race for Bastogne". And on the morning of day two, it seems the entire 78 Grendadier Regiment was able to cross over the river north of the Obereisenbach crossing--lickety split. No slowing down or anything. Several other units actually bothered crossing the bridge. But these guys...boom. Straight over the river. I have the save file. And all you have to do is open it up and watch it happen right before your eyes. :)

Marshal,

That's because foot units are allowed to cross minor rivers albeit slowly. It's only motorised that cannot. If you ever get the chance to go and see the battlefield you'll note that the Our river is not very wide, nor deep, but it flows pretty fast.

Thanks :)

However, there was no delay. :) But if it is shallow. Then that is the way it should be. :)

Whay delay were you expecting?

If you're talking about order delay, consider that when the reinforcements arrive, they normally begin with no or little initial order delay (to account for presumed prior initial planning).

If you're talking about slowing down when crossing the river, maybe you should look more carefully: for me they do slow down when crossing rivers.

I didn't notice a slow down as they crossed the river at all. But I am not worried about this issue ATM.

Hi Marshal,

I mean no offence by asking this but what version of the game are you running?? Is it 4.1.235??

I'm only asking because I have not seen so many posts with events like yours since the pre-patch release.

Regards,

Rob.[:)]

So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)
