DtHq in Commander's Report query

Post by trcanberra »

Hi all

Just getting my toes wet in the tutorial; the values for distances to HQ in hexes just seem wrong. As one example, the 19th guards rifle division is showing 12 hexes to the 3rd Shock Army HQ which is actually just 3 hexes away.

Just wondering what is going on here?

You sure its not 12 movement points?  I believe it can be either 5 hexs or with those 5 hexes 20 mp allowed for a Corps HQ.

Well, I was thinking that could be it, which may mean the tool tip is wrong, or perhaps there is a toggle I may have missed to show one or the other.

To be honest, I have never bothered to check the exact numbers. When it ( the DtHq column in the Commander's Report) shows a negative number the unit is always out of supply so I fix it; if it shows zero or a postive number I don't need to fix it. I have never seen it wrong yet at that level.

Just double checked. I have a unit six hexes from the HQ and it is 9 MP (motorized) but the entry is -1 which indicates that it is counting hexes. OTOH I have gotten negative numbers during Mud when it was within five hexes. In any case I just look at the sign of the number anyway.
