research cancelation question

Post by Data »

from the pedia

"You can cancel a research project by right-clicking on it. All other subsequent queued projects will be moved up the queue."

does this mean that the amount of research i performed so far will be assigned to the new active project or will it be lost and i have to start over?

The research progress 'sticks' to the tech it was spent on; not sure if it degrades over time, like certain other games, if you don't go back to researching said tech. reasonably quickly.

Theres a progress bar on the tech. box in the research screens you can check.

The research progress stays with the tech, but doesn't degrade over time, from what I can see. I went back to a tech after quite a few years - more than 5 anyways - and the progress was right at where I had stopped it.

Yea any research you had in that field/tech stays until you come back and finish it, which is very nice.
