Its Sept 44 and I'm havent beaten then yet

Post by ilovestrategy »

Boy, I suck. To be fair, when I started the Pacific Campaign I didn't know how to play but still....

I finally captured Brisbane from the Nips. I did a recon and to my dismay they have a lot of troops and planes just South of my position. That's ok though, I have ten carriers, a couple of battleships and more troops arriving.

The Japs are trying to take the Marshall Islands back from me but I have 2 carrier groups converging from each side. And now someone came and bombed Wake Island since I took it back. It looks like they are doing the same hit and run tactics I did against them in 1942 and 43.

I'm starting to wonder if I should have just taken each island by force all the way to Australia, but I was afraid the Japs would gain too much of Aussie Land. I wish I knew how to take a screen shot and find it.

I would never go in to a PBEM match with you guys, any of you would slaughter me!

get the freeware irfanview, start it up, hit the 'c' key to startup screen capture mode, and set the capture location to the desktop or some other folder

Or, if you have your own paint program (I'm still happy with Paint Shop Pro!) and you're using Windows, ALT-PrtScr will capture a screencap, Alt-TAB to your paint proggie (which must be running) and Shift-Ins will paste it into your graphics workspace.

If you're using two monitors, use Ctrl-PrtScr to capture both on the same screenshot.

Note that running WWII:ToW simultaneously with any paint or text program (that I've tried) really S - L - O - W -S the response time to any keystroke input.  I don't know whether SoP will do the same.

I certainly support the suggestion that you get IrfanView.
I ran that for years as a freebie, then I registered my copy and grabbed a whole lot of useful plug-ins and it's quite useful as a re-sizing application that I can use on the fly without firing up PSP. Very worth having!
