Munda campain!

Post by jphamel »

I read it was a good campaign to learn, but something I don't understand, what can I buy with only 195 points to spend.

Got kicked hard, just don't what to buy.

Just a rookie in this thing.

Anybody has any pointers?

Thanks!

TIP: always carefully read campaigfn intro texts.

As clearly stated in this campaign initial text :

"It is recommended that you use what few points you have to purchase as many M-3 Stuart tanks for that purpose.**"

Now you know it :)

Yes, you are supposed to think, "That's not many tanks." 'Cause that way you'll then think, "I better not lose any. They'll be hard to replace!"

Ditto on recommending this campaign. It is epecially useful if you like the Pacific theater battles.

It will humble you until you get the hang of it and will force you to learn how to employ a combined arms force. Even with the few forces involved and the small map, the teaching points make it a worthwhile training exercise.

Don't be afraid to replay the complete campaign or any of the indiividual battles if you don't do well the first few times.

One key point to remember:

Your infantry scouts for and protect the tanks from close-in infantry and suicide AT attacks. The tanks provide direct fire against emplacments and bunkers to suppress them. They also do a pretty good job against troops in the open. Your mortars and arty (if available) adds to the mix. Use each of them to complement the others.

The hard part is resisting the temptation to send the tanks on long romps; doing so usually results in your tank being surprised and damaged or destroyed.

Enjoy.
