So how does killing ennemy tanks work ?

Post by tmoj2000 »

After a number of games it appears to me that depending on the scenario it can be easier/more difficult to kill the same ennemy tanks and I am not quite sure of the reason

Taking the same tanks (say a sherman vs a Pz IV) in the same conditions (e.g. distance), it seems that in some scenarios a couple of shots will get you a kill while in others 8 or more shots will be needed. I understand there is randomness involved but taken over dozens of shots it should even out.

Is this just an impression or are there some factors at play here such as perhaps difficulty level or experience or whatever that are not immediately apparent in the scenario set up ?

Also I sometimes get defensive fire from tanks with morale below zero... Is this normal ?

A good question I would like to see answered too.

and regarding his last comment, similarl to his qustion, what does Suppressed mean in BA?

I've had German tanks fire two times at my tanks, I would bounce 4 or 6 rounds off it resulting in it going Suppressed, then have it fire another round at another tank I was moving up to engage. I thought once it went Suppressed it would not shoot again (considering it already fired off two rounds) ... or does Suppressed not mean that? ... and once suppressed does its aim worsen?

(this is not meant as a negative ... because I'm having a blast playing BA/BF)

No there is nothing other than what you see on the % that is shown. It is the same % used by the model and thats just how probability works! E.g. if you have a 12% chance to kill it would be roughly 1 in 8. You could easily have a game where you hit first time and another where you missed 12 times. They are both well within the bounds of normal probability.

We made supressed tanks have 1 shot they could use to stop things like a supressed King Tiger being somethign you coudl treat with contempt. It has caused confusion sometimes so not sure if its a good idea or not.

havins suppressed tank shot in reaction is not bad. But may be they should have a chance to not see the ennemy. Tank are like mole they don't see, especially when panicked with explosion sound everywhere and smoke. So conditionning the shot can be good.

Best regards
