battle error

Post by borner »

Situation: Austria attacks and breaks into Munich. Bavaira is an Aus free state, but Munich has a Fr garrison. This garrison is eliminated. A land battle then takes place in Linz. The game is now showing that the Fr Garrison back in place, and Bavaria went to FR control. Anyone seen something like this before?

Hmmm, might be something to do with battle files ? Who is seeing this situation ? Everyone ? Or just one player ? If it looks OK for the Austrian then it may well be cleared up when his combat phase file goes out.

We've seen something similar. It happens to one player in all the games he is in (the French in the game I am in, but I believe Spain in his other game). Everyone else in our game see the correct battle results.

Two suggestions to get around this: 1) Re-open the game and see if the situation has fixed itself (sometimes it does), or 2) ask the host to send out a back up, which should be ok (as long as France is not the host).

I have no idea what causes this. In our game, this started after the French player re-installed. He patched from 1.00-->1.06.03-->1.07.01-->1.07.02-->1.08.03. I don't know if there is something in the re-patching? Seems unlikely.

Oddly when he first loads the combat file everything looks ok, but when he clicks around the board and then comes back to the battle area, it has gone back to the pre-battle position. However, everybody else in the game, sees everyhting ok.

David must be correct, and there must be a problem in how the battle file is loaded. It does not matter in our game if the French players wins or losses, but in each case the French players was the defender.

I am Austria in the game, and I was the player who started the battle file, so I am wondering if a backup will solve it or not. If so, I create the backup following my land combat phase, correct? Marshall, do you have any suggestions?
