How to print the manual?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Thats from the Windows all programs menu.

lol john....it may be something with your printer driver. Are you sure you had all the settings correct? I took the "Lite" version to Staples and them print it B&W two sided. Bound with a cardstock cover in color on manilla colored paper with a plastic sheet protector cover and and black back protector. Sure it was 37 or something dollars. But dam now I have a printed manual and it is very professionally ddone.

$37 for a B&W printed/bound (full) manual- Matrix is letting money walk out the door.  They should sell full, color manuals, 24"x36" laminated planning maps, hard copy quick-reference charts, and other merchandise "sold separately".  From the posts I've seen, there's people that would pay extra for that stuff.

Yes indeed. I posted somewhere else that I would gladly buy a decent manual from Matrix. Having other merchandise is a great idea, and I think it's one Matrix should really consider.

I agree with the above 2 posts. Would gladly spend my money on a hardcopy manual. Would not think twice about it.

Didn't Matrixgames used to have on-demand printing for the manuals from some of their games? I forget who the company was that printed the manuals (Kinkos maybe?). Never tried it out and from what I remember there were only a handful of manuals you could select from. It'd be nice to see something like this resurected, but more along the lines of users being able to upload the manual of their choice and printed with the options they want (binding, cover, color, b/w, etc). Of course we can all do this right now with Staples, Office Depot, etc, but maybe Matrixgames could work out a better deal for us, price-wise? I printed the manual from WITP-AE at Staples and got it for about $23, but they were running a 5-cent/page sale at the time. Not sure if I want to print the WITE manual for $37, though [:(]

I'd buy all that as quick as I could type in the order. Maybe when they upgrade this to a "Generals" edition like they have the Admirals edition in War in the Pacific they will have some of the above.

You almost got it right with general's edition. But it should be FIELD MARSHALL'S edition. Yeah.

Well, I have printed the manual myself on my laser color printer. I opened the printer friendly version and used the 2-sided print option of my printer.

But even if you don't have the convenience of a 2-sided print option, it's easy to do manually. The most basic printers can print just odd or even page numbers in the print options window, and that's the trick to get duplex printing. So the procedure should be something like this:

1) First of all, you need to figure out which way you need to reinsert the paper for the second-side print. So just do a test: print one page, reinsert the paper the way you feel it should now be printing the other side and print again. Check the result. It's going to take a couple tries but you should figure out exactly which way the paper needs to be re-inserted to be printed properly on both sides.

2) Once you have figured it out, insert brand new paper. Print by choosing even page numbers only, and going in reverse order. Then when all even pages have been printed, just reinsert the paper the way you figured earlier and print all odd pages number only, but this time in normal order (not reverse, since the last page printed on your run of even page number was page 2, and it should now be on top of the stack and the first odd page to be printed should be page 1).

Then you can go to Staples or Office Depot to get it binded just for a few bucks.

I would also gladly pay for the FULL printed manual. Now I have the manual that comes with the boxes version which is only 1/3 of the original.

I paid extra to get the box version that came with the printed manual that I had thought was the full manual. So I would still like a full printed manual.

The problem I have is War in the Pacific Admirals Edition came with a complete manual.

WITP.AE is equally immense in scope and depth with an exhaustive manual.

Now I have paid for physical shipment plus download and have half a manual

My recommendation is just buy the download, the physical manual isnt worth the extra money
