Turn 10

Last turn the AI pulled everything back. The entire SU line moved east. It opened many possibility. I had to take a break and think over my options.

AGN: Began cleaning up a pocket with 18th Army. Began securing the Luga river line and made a play to cut off Novgorod. It is not complete so I expect a general withdrawal of SU force west of lake Ilmen.

The panzers broke out and drove east to Bologoe.

18th Army received 4 infantry divisions.

AGC: The NE drive has linked with the AGN at Bologoe. All SU units in the heights are cut off.

The southern sector of AGC has reestablished the encirclement and added a few more. It took alot of discipline to not charge everywhere! I did do one foolish attack; Das Reich attempted an assault on Bryansk. Even with dedicate air bombardment it was no use, naturally.

AGS: My allies are doing well. Odessa fell on the first attempt and I maintained a grip on Kirovograd. 6th Army is well established across the rivers north of Kiev and 17th Army has crossed the Dnepr south of the city. In the meantime, the mobile forces gather in front of Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye.

Note. The panzer corps of AGN and the single corps of AGC will need to rest and restock. They likely hold still as the infantry clears the backfield.

The Romanians are almost keeping up with your rate of advance. That's a minor miracle in itself. Wish they would take Odessa without needing assistance in my games, lol.

Hehe they are scary slow at times then bam... they dash 6 hexes!

Turn 11

August is over, September is upon us. The leafs will turn colour and the cool autumn breeze will be whistling over the steppe. Ahhh, the thought of mud! The two mountain and the 1st Cav divisions are heading to Leningrad.

AGN: 18th Army is making good progress. It'll come to halt soon. The defences are stiffening. The 56th
Panzer and the 39th Panzer corps are in relatively good shape therefore they are heading due north. I believe I have caused enough holes along the front I might be able to sneak in an cut off Leningrad. Well, we can dream. :) The 41st Panzer has broken into regiments and will hold the pocket closed.

AGC: The 57th Panzer corps is taking a few weeks off to resupply. The pockets are being reduced and the infantry is making its way back to the front. The front line is somewhat fluid as I conduct local attacks in an attempt to keep the AI off balance. Currently credible threats are being demonstrated near Torzhok, Rzhev, Vyazma and Bryansk. The cities themselves are of little importance to me but the AI likes them.

AGS: Kiev is surrounded. 6th Army is resting. I want to see what develops both central and south before committing them in any direction. 17th Army has Cherekassy surrounded and will drive south on the east bank of the Dnepr. I am taking a chance right now with my allies. I want the 17th to cut off forces west of the river with my allies holding them in place. The concern is for the SU units to breakout west and threaten my plans further south.

I have decided to focus my armour south. I am not interested in the Crimea but I do want to anchor and secure that flank before mud hits.

Turn 12.

AGN: Continuing to prepare the screening of Leningrad although some success due east. I have cut the rail line to the city preventing the addition or evacuating of units. I have also overran 4-6 airbases too. HQ units are also being displaced. Looking forward to getting the 1st Cav and mountain units up here.

AGC: Mostly quiet. I am taking whats given. Again focusing on the low risk attacks. I am able to develop many holes causing the SU units to shift all over. Potential exists to pocket Vyazma and Rzhev.

AGS: Kiev fell. Two deliberate attacks on the west bank and one deliberate attack on the east. 6th Army is rested and will join the fight next turn.

!7th Army and the minor allies closed the pocket on some west bank SU units. Several escaped unfortunately.

My armour push across the Dnepr caused the AI to pull back. Zaporozhye is surrounded Dnepropetrovsk is threatened.

I contine to worry about my armour losses. I am concerned the ratio is not high enough. The late war will be tough.

Turn 13

AGN: Some interesting developments. First, there are units from Moscow defending Leningrad. This is good news not that there might be less at Moscow but there is more to be (hopefully) liquidated at Leningrad. Then again that could be completely wishful thinking.

Novgorod is surrounded.

The two panzer corps have broke out north. The LVI Panzer corps is securing the approaches to Leningrad from the east. The XXXIX Panzers are heading east. Displaced several HQ’s and 6 airbases. The two mountain and one cav units have joined the drive.

AGC: Localized assaults are being made near Vyshny Volochek, Kalinin, Rzhev, Vyazma, Bryansk Orel and an infantry drive east of Gomel. I am not looking for big knockdown fights here. I'll hit anything weak between now and mud. Again, the focus is on killing units and depleting manpower.

AGS: 6th Army is on the move east toward Sumy. 17th Army has pushed south of Poltava and linked with elements of the 1st Panzer Group. The north back has been weakly encircled. I anticipate several units to escape but the infantry is slow and many ought to be caught. At the very least, the SU Dnepr defence is unhinged.

A Romanian unit captured Zaporozhye. The approached to the Crimea has been closed.

Turn 14

AGN: I am very pleased with the progress here. 18th Army has linked across the river Volkhov with the Panzer group encircling a sizable SU force. Also, the panzer group along with an infantry corp are maintain the pressure on the supply line to Leningrad.

AGC: The defence approaching Moscow is becoming difficult. I will reduce the existing pockets take anything cheap and prepare to withdraw the panzer corps.

AGS: 6th Army drive is going well. The exits from the Crimea are locked and the pocket on the Dnepr is liquidated. I'll form a front line and withdraw the panzer corps. They have been severally overworked.
