Sim reinf or eco

Marshall. I hear you are working on Sim Eco and Reinf phases. Given the improvement in game flow/speed with the SIm DIp improvement, I hope this is true and your work is going well.

Borner:

No, it is not! Simul changes are done! Diplomacy will be it!
I tried the eco earlier and the design simply did not take it well (To say the least).
Also, simul reinf will NOT be done because it takes from France's ability to watch other corps being placed since they are last.
If it ever gets done then it would be in a total rewrite.
Thank you

Looking at the error messages which the initial attempt at Sim Eco made, I'm 100% sure they were related to improper patching, and not the sim eco coding (the only errors were related to phase advances, same as the patching problem caused for sim dip). Can you pit the sim eco code put back in, at least for a seperate BETA version? Then we can test it seperately, and work it back in when it is ready.

The sequential eco phases are slow to get through, and delay the action.

As to sim reinforcement, I'm a big fan of sim phases and love to see it myself, but I think that is a bridge too far for most.

DB:

No, the error messages were not totally because of the patch order. Big problems arise when possible changes to units are made (bought or levied) and that info get's transferred to another player. Well, other players may transmit that info (before units are levied, etc) on top of the previous player's info thus killing the levy info! This is a huge problem and would cause me to have to put modified date tags on each unit to do a "sync" and that would take a lot of time and code and do little to streamline since eco is only every 3 months anyway.

SO, no more simul changes will be made at this point.
Thank you

Alright, sounds like a lot of work (although the Levy step could be moved to the next reinforcement phase with no loss in functionality). And you are right, eco is only up once every three months.

There are better things to spend time on right now, like crunching the last few bugs, and an ingame editor.

We have had one player that skipped the Diplomacy phase, but Spain could not continue because the game was still asking for that skipped players turn!?!?!?! [&:]
