Mines and minewarfare

Just a quickie, Ive got in my hot little hand the 1946 version of Mines against Japan, released by the US Naval ordanance laboratory, and is it an eye opener:eek:
2078 sorties by the army air force, 12000 mines,(b29 aircraft)
1128 sorties by the RAAF, (PBYs)
631 by the RAF, and 486 by the US navy, 21000 mines total
961 ships mined, 484 sunk!!!!!!
And most of this in the last 6 months of the war


The book is quite unequivacol, and reading it I have to agree, THE WEAPON that finally did japan in was the mine.
So , will I be able to air deliver mines in WIP, (in the last 6 months of the war) as they become available.?

I hope Matrix is looking at the mine warefare angle, I think looking at this book UV has it pretty right, if its not available for the allies in 45, standby, as Japan will still have a viable industry and defence. ( to quote- until the inner mining campaign began, 2000000 tons of shipping shuttled back and forth to asia, relatively safe from air and submarine attack) defensive minefields denied the inner seas.

Anyway, some thoughts, cant wait until next years release
