Da Big Babes + Quiet China

Post by Ambassador »

Hello everybody,

As I'd like to play the Big Babes, and dislike the ground war in China, I was wondering if it was OK to simply copy the AI files and to give them the ad hoc scenario number ?

Thanks by advance,
Lionel

Yep. Japanese AI should work just fine.

Confused!! I thought that while DaBabes lite was OK to play against the Japanese AI, the Big Babes wasn't. Am I all wet with my original understanding?

I am in a Big Babes game against the Japanese AI and have made it to April '42. The AI seems fine so far ( meaning it seems to be acting like its usual self ) .

It is a fun scenario, I want to eventually play a PBEM using it.

Yep, that's how it's supposed to work.

BabesLite is playable, by either side, against the Allied AI or Japanese AI, just like a regular stock scenario. It uses all the stock AI files, so Quite China is, indeed, just a copy/paste/renumber. BabesLite "IS 'stock'", except it has some magic in the Class, Ship and Device files to let it play more fun and grainy.

DaBigBabes is a significant departure from the 'stock' paradigm and required a lot of database rearrangement that totally screwed the Allied AI scripts. We tried our best to avoid dinking with Japanese LCU slots so, for the most part, the Japanese AI scripts will find what they want in the place they are looking. The AI is otnay-ootay-ightbray, so it won't know how to use the magic, but it still functions as a fairly decent computer opponent.

I guess the best way to say it is DaBigBabes is playable, as an Allied human player, against a Japanese AI. There's gonna be some grits, but the thought is that Babes players have a bit of knowledge and can deal with the moderate inconsistencies. Yeah ?
