Purchasing as a Gift

Post by MikeH1952 »

I would like to purchase the Game as a gift for my son, having been playing a WiTP campaign for a mere 6 years we are ready for a speedy game[:'(]
He lives in Swtzerland and I am in the UK, I am going for the boxed version to be sent direct to him. My questions are
1. Should I be sure to order without logging in to the members area so as to avoid the game automaticaly registering to me?
2. Can I forward the confirmatory email to him allowing him to down load or is it best to wait for the physical game to reach him?

As a subsidary question, I joined as a member today and have registered some existing games (WiTP and TOAW III) but they are not appearing under my products. Is there normally a time lag?

Sorry to use the forum but I cannot find a direct e-mail address for customer support.

I would pm Erik Rutins about this one. he will be able to guide you better.

Matrix suffered a loss in the family so a lot of answers may be delayed a few days.

No problems. There is a post in the General Forum about the loss. Might take the rest of the week before they are back full strength

By accident I sent my reply as a PM

Have a look at my PM and it will tell you how to do it.

Please post it so others may read it and know how to send presents with Matrix.

Here is Matthews valuable advice. We can't have the taxman benifiting too much [:)]

Hello Mike

I lived in Swtizerland for 8 years and know from experience that they charge import duty on good imported from the EC - I bought my daughter a present.
I would therefore recommend that you do not buy him a boxed version.
Rather, but him a download version with his email account and your credit card account.
He will therefore be able to download to his email, and you will pay for the present.
Do not buy him a gift certificate as that will not work in switerland for a game purchased outside of Switzerland (I tried that with Itunes).
That is how to do it.

A Swiss father in Germany with a Swiss Daughter.
