Turn 47

I have circled the areas I originally planned to attack. The goal of the attacks is to spring the panzers loose. Based on 3 trial runs, it will not happen. Therefore the planned assault on Sumy.

Turn 48

Mud. Waiting for more reinforcements.

Turn 49

Clear. Almost ready.

Turn 50

Mud. Has my build up in the march been detected? 5 recon flights were conducted over the buildup area. It appears SU forces have been move in anticipation. I moved the units deeper into the marsh.

Turn 51

Mud. 6 recon flights in the build up area but based on jump map recon, AI saw no one and moved units away.

Turn 52

The OKH assault began. I caused two hexes to retreat. The second line was hit with hasty attacks. Both hexes defended at over 300.

The Finns are doing so limited assaults along the north line cause one fortification to surrender!

AGN began its limited offensive this turn.

Turn 53

Mud. The Finns did another deliberate attack another empty fortification unit. It held.

AGN did two attacks. Both held in lvl 3 forts.

AGC: OKH assault continues against lvl 3 forts. Two hexes cleared.

Turn 54

The Finns are spent on that little endeavour.

AGN gained more hexes. The armour is up to clear the rest. The infantry is almost spent.

The OKH assault gained some more hexes. Decision time may be upon us... commit forces panzer to this assault or begin their preplanned objectives.

Turn 55

The SU lines have thickened in front of the OKH assault. The two assault points for AGC are still dicey. AGS may have a chance to break south. AGN seems to have had the best success. I need to take a break. Here are the Jump Map screen shots. Notice turn 50/51. BEWARE warriers pited against the AI, it is very adept at recon. Enjoy...

As someone playing the Soviet side in the full campaign, I can just about guarantee that you'll be shocked how many rifle divisions there are.

Turn 55

AGN: I have committed both panzer corps to this fight. Losses are reasonable. Notice the lvl 5 fortification.

AGC: The OKH assault managed to make a hole. I decided to commit the nearest panzer corps (2) to the assault. The second panzer group of AGC will wait but can be sent by rail immediately.

AGS: I will wait one more turn. I am hoping this front will clear some more. Next turn they will be committed either as a spoiling attack (panzer group goes to AGC) or as a fully fledged assault with amour.

This is the second panzer group for AGC. So, reinforce the OKH assault or drive to Vyazma?

Turn 56

AGN: Continues its assault. I wish to secure the northern river line before proceeding to far east.

AGC: The reserve corps sits as the OKH assault continues. Making more head way and widening breach. Remember all the infantry there are spring/summer reinforcements. The Italians are going to support the flanks and are be railed in now.

AGS: I pulled the trigger here. I almost broke free of the defensive line. I hope that either this moves releases AGC or is allowed to further develop.
