Fiji: Aoba, Furutaka, Yubari and 6 DD's engage 2 PT boats at Nadi. I'm not sure what the purpose was. Perhaps it was a bombardment group diverted from its true purpose. They are retiring at high speed to the West.

Carrier Zeroes raided over Suva. Losses were roughly 16 P-29's to 12 Zeroes. As these are carrier Zeroes with hot shot pilots that is not bad.

600 JJ KIA's at Suva today. I am sending another Regt to Nadi to get ready for an attack there. Moderate efficacy of B-26 raids on Nadi.

A Vincet pilot of No. 4 Sqdrn claimed a hit on a Jap sub off Nadi. The remaining PT boat from the Nadi engagement has been ordered to investigate another oil slick off Nadi. A tremendous swarm of seagulls in the area was mistaken for Jap planes.

USS Cuttlefish was patroling the Chinese coast ...and got killed. The air cover up there is murder. Nagasaki is certainly a possibility. There was another sub on station there that got bombed. I need to send an AS to Midway and get serious about oil interdiction. I will also stick one West of Okinawa and one in the Tsushima Strait. We have got a few tankers but this crowd is very careful about using waypoints to change up their routes.


Up to now the US subs have been chiefly on the defensive, but they did torpedo Akagi 3 times in one night (1 dud) and apparently sunk Soryu.

The "light industry" is "11" at Noumea. I wonder what they are making.


The Jap Naval Guard remnant on the North Shore of Fiji has 9 guns but no Japs in diapers. When attacked by the Stuarts there they inflict too much damage. Apparently they are robotic guns. I guess I will have to bring up some infantry to kill them. One has to put up with these minor annoyances for an overall great game.
