the slaughter continues

Post by RGIJN »

we sent one cruiser force into Brisbane, with some success - we´d say even results. Several night battles occured right off the piers. Our BB force caught two stricken CLs mid-ocean, making short work of them.
Daylight brought some deadly attacks from the rested KB...
YORKTOWN and a CVE reported sunk. But there are still so many allied ships to hunt out there....!!

what a strange, lasting battle.... Of course the results are truly overwhelming. Out of the sudden and unforeseen we managed to wipe out most of the enemy fleet.

Bermuda Triangle in the South Pacific

Post by a1981stingray »

The Bermuda Triangle in the South Pacific

It's been several weeks since the Tropical Storm " Einstein " devastated the entire South Pacific. Severe lightning strikes damaged every radio tower and communications array among all Allied HQs and Active Surface Fleets. Only ships not affected were those lurking under the waves. Several reports of ships disappearing in massive wall cloud storm-like maelstroms have several commanders mystified. Radar arrays are completely smashed needing to be rebuilt from scratch. Other reports have the Magnetic North on a compass moving frantically in circles.

Grim news of the entire Allied Fleets lost at sea are not what it appears to be. Some Allied Coast watchers have seen massive carrier fleets and troop transports appear within 100 miles of the Australian port of Rockhampton.

Some strange and unexplainable phenomenon have occurred. Scientists and other " experts " are working on an response....

the "new" battle was as follows:

My opponent´s carriers reacted, thus exposing his surface fleet to our heavy attacks. In the meantime, his carriers were boldly CAPped from LBA so most of my major strikes opted for the cruisers and BBs. However some foolish flight leaders chose to fly into this shredder with escorts at all.

Anyway, we sunk many of the USN heavies and the enemy lost about 230 A/C today. All his attacks were smashed and blown to pieces by our awesome fighter aces.

PM invasion...?!

Post by RGIJN »

after both fleets (or their remnants) retired to base there was a brief lull, but not really much time to breathe.

The enemy commence a truly audacious operation: several FT TFs delivered some troops into Port Moresby... Of course they met a few dozen mines (<250 out of many thousand) before they received a hail of bombs & torpedoes the next day.... Numerous DDs went down.

We´ll see how long these troops will survive on Papua....

Port Moresby´s defenders strike back!

Post by RGIJN »

our garrison got massive reinforcemnts via Air & sea, so last night the local commander decided for a bold attack on the enemy intruders... About half of them surrendered, and we estimate the remainder will follow suit soon. We´ve rarely seen such gaunt combat troops.... obviously they were thrown on the beach with just weapons & ammo, and except one bottle of "Kanga Jungle Fever" for each Platoon they weren´t supplied with any food....

the Allies still keep on sending FTs into PM, with more troops. This time they even sent a battlegroup shelling our positions. Unfortunately KB sailed too late to catch them, only hitting DDs from other TFs.
