I see a "saves" folder there, but the actual saved games seem to be buried in an uneditable file...

Ok, so is there a way I can clean up my saved games?

You cant edit saved games - they are a binary format. You can delete them though - what exactly are you trying to do?

I am trying to delete the games and I didn't see a way to do it in the game

There is not currently - but you can do it via the file manager in windows. It's not ideal and is on the wish list to be fixed. You can be sure which are your recent games from the date time stamp on them. The .LSF files are your saved games. The other files are various ini files to tell the game which screens to default to etc.
