Utter madness... if you didn't believe something was wrong before

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Thoroughly entertaining, we don't have blues like this in WITP-AE, very often anyway[:D]

To be honest, you will HARDLY see people insulting in the WitP forum. Heated debates, hell yes!! But insults (I have already been insulted twice here)... [:'(] The question is: should I care? [:D]

If they had a variable where japan could attack Soviet East Asia people would be more ready to be interested in WITP-AE.

I am always amused in posters who complain about a single combat result, how many 100's of thousands of combat results are there in a game.

Back in the day when board games ruled, I had so many games hinge on 1 battle, one roll of the dice

What is lacking in the WITE forum, is someone who sits down and tests the circumstances 30-50 times to see just what the expected result is. As mentioned, was this a case of rolling a pair of ones or the result that you will get every time?

Plus I'm sure the treasure at Matrix would love the interest being shown by the AE'ers, they cant rely on East Front Grognards alone and many interested in Military History look at all theatres. (Is 27th Panzer (Penal) Rgt shown in the game??)

Very true. Very true. I hereby promise to exert maximum effort in trying to figure out the best way to make those uncontrollable Army Group const bns do what I want them to do. 50 times. Woof!

It would probably be of more importance than the original complaint based on one battle only, can you build airbases and ports and forts here as well!!!

It's a game...importance may be overstating things a bit. [;)]

But it will be fun!

The problem with this whole thread is that (while interesting) it is based on a single combat result. We have no idea if this result is average for this situation, or at one end of a bell curve. If it's average then I think the loss ratio is improper. Much ado is made on the thread about some large calibre Soviet howitzers but the Germans had more men, more tubes, more tanks, more training, more experience, more morale, more mobility. Sure they'd take some losses but the ratio of German to Soviet losses seems askew if this is an avg combat result. But we don't know if it's an avg result.
