Need some help tracking something down.

I am trying to put something together and I need some help. Somehow, I would like to come up with the produced numbers and versions of these items.



I have read somewhere that 2000 of the first edition were produced. Was there another edition?



This one I assume had higher production numbers. there were no add-ons to this I believe.



There were 2 versions, a 1991 update, plus a whole lot of additions etc.



This is the big one and I would like to know the numbers for all the addons also.



Does anyone have an idea where one could get this information?

Are you looking for the number of physical copies produced or the the publisher's catalogue numbers?

I have almost everything from the Harpoon II example you've shown. Of course you could contact Larry Bond who I'm sure would be pleased to help. Especially if you're putting, "A History of Harpoon" together. I'd be morew than happy to pass on the request for you, if you don't have contact details.

The request for information has already been sent to Larry Bond via Clash of Arms. I would like what information you do have if possible, via PM for now. I want this to be a surprise when I gather what I can.

The computer version numbers will not be able to be rounded up per Don. Maybe at some point the publishers will let that information loose, but for now I will have to stick with the paper rules versions. I don't think Matrix will for sure, but the early years is what I am most interested at this point. Up to Harpoon 97 and H2AE....the more modern stuff is still in play per se but if I was able to gather it as well so be it.

I have tried to contact the publisher of the Harpoon BattleBook, but it takes them weeks to reply. I have some digging to do.

And yes I am going to update the Wiki with more information than I did the first time.

Well I have some of the information...thanks to Marc Miller. I will compile it and add to the Wiki, but before I do that I need to see If I can get Clash of Arms to do the same thing.

One open question, as I have not been able to get a hold of Frank Chadwick. Marc seemed to think the Harpoon and Harpoon II numbers to be very close, and we know that Harpoon I was about 2000 copies.

What about Resolution 502? I bet this had a much lower printing number. I have only seen 2 listed and I got mine do to a very nice person

NOTE: The Harpoon Battlebook says that says that there was 2000 original copies of Harpoon (First Edition) printed in April 1981. The HBB also says that there are two books to this issue, one a 36-page rule book and a 64-page Annex. Both copies that I have have the rules and Annex in one single issue as described earlier.

This last statement bothers me, I do not know where that information came from. The 2 book set was and is Harpoon II. I know have have 3 copies of both. Harpoon I was just ONE book. Weird but a mistake in the Harpoon Battlebook I guess.

I goofed..I had thought I was contacting Mr. Chadwick and ended up recontacting Mr. Miller. I am glad he didn't get too upset. He was very helpful and gracious and is a class act.

So now I must find Mr. Chadwick....If I can find him and get the information, then I will contact Clash of Arms and maybe just maybe we can have the paper rules set, then maybe we can get Don to give some numbers of the 'older' computer versions.

Matrix would be the last request and since they are still selling, they might not want to give that information but it is the older stuff I am after.

Interesting thing is, I bet the 'original' computer harpoon was probably the most numerous of the bunch, maybe up to 1992 or there about. This is just a guess.

I have since found out that he passed away in 2009, may he rest in peace..
