I usually suck at these quizes but this time I might have a little advantage due to my nationality.

I say it's KMS Lützow.

The uniforms look more like USN uniforms, though I'm no expert on ships.  I think it was a pre-war built ships.  I don't think war time built ships often had many port holes.

Not Lutzow, she had 2 turrets each with 3 x 11inch

This apears to be 2 turrets each with 6-8" forward firing.

Not Portland either, she had a starboard astern torpedo hit. Maybe same/similar class.

Right ship, wrong time frame. That is still an all white paint job there, so that places this pre-war at least. Looking it up again, this is the damage the ship suffered in 1933 after being rammed by SS Silver Palm off Point Sur.
Take my word for it. You never want to be involved in an “International Incident”.

I was so full of myself in finding the picture I ASSUMED it related to Savo Island.[8|]

I spent more time on reading about her Captain at the time.

I have no idea about what ship that is, but doesn´t the hole look a lot like as if it had been made by a collision at right angle?

It does look more like a collision.  I think it was from the Silver Palm.  The Silver Palm must have been pretty badly messed up.

Was the all white colour scheme an indication that the ship was from a neutral power, post Dec 41 ofcourse?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Silver Palm was relatively unscathed. Think Stockholm vs the Andrea Doria.
