Weather and Romanian Bugs ...

Post by WryGuy2 »

I didn't see some of the bugs I'm experiencing, so I thought I'd post them. I'm running Version 1.03 Beta 2 and playing the 1941 GC as the Axis.

1) The Romanians, in a spirt of greater unity with the Germans, willingly cross the no-axis Ally line and eagerly engage in combat operations north of the line. (The Hungarians and Italians correctly will not cross, and the Finns are also stopping where they should.)

2) After the first blizzard runs its course (1941/42), I got a few turns of snow, and every turn after that was clear weather ... ie, no mud turns at all in the spring of 1942. Since all of my German infantry units lost a lot of experience when converting to the 1942 TOE (this bug is already being corrected from what I've read), I figure it was a fair trade. :-)

3) I've seen this one discussed, but I thought I'd mention it, too, in that in my game I was having the AI do all of my Ju-52 Fuel/Supply drops. After the 1.03 Beta 2 took away the AI button for Air Transport, I can't do air supply missions manually with my Ju-52s. (When I try, I get messages that read "air transports not available".) I may be able to use my level bombers ... when I hit the Air Transport button, my bomber bases are highlighted, but not my transport bases.

Haven't seen item 1. Is this the AI, or your units crossing the line? If you have a save that duplicates this, please send it to 2by3@2by3games.com with the details.

2) This was reported once before and a fix is in for the next beta version. I assume this was using non-random weather? We will have to watch this closely in the future once the next beta comes out as I think there is a good chance something else is still going on that may not have been addressed.

3) The AI has probably changed all your Ju52 groups to fly night missions. Either fly night resupply missions or change them back to fly day missions.
All understanding comes after the fact.

Joel,

Thanks for the quick reply! Regarding the Romanians, I'm the one moving them across the line and am playing against the Soviet AI ... I wasn't paying close attention and the next thing you know, I had several divisions north of the line, and they can move back and forth over it at will. I'll send a save once I get back to my home computer later today.

Regarding the weather bug, you're correct, I'm using non-random weather. The only I did was to turn off the graphical display of the adverse weather, as I found it too difficult to see rail lines and such on my computer, and have left it off. (I then used the the weather button off of the interface to check what the weather was for that turn.)

Re the Ju-52s, you're probably right, and I'll look at that later, too. I'm playing my first GC, and haven't come fully up to speed with air units, as I'm still absorbing the nuances of the ground game. (I have been keeping the air bases in supply and near the front lines, but have been letting the AI run the rest.)

Regards,

-Tim
