my password ?

A new opponent in my pbem says he needs my password to start the game. He is Jap. I'm Alies. It's been a while since I started a new game and I don't recall having to send my password to my opponent. Is this how it's done and I don't remember ?

There is no reason that he would need that. Might want to confirm what the issue is before proceeding.

What he needs is your former opponent's password.

Perhaps it is asking for Player 2 password when he opens the file though? In which case it just means he should send it to you.

Would that opponent happen to be "Jean", aka, "Helmut", by any chance? A clueless little cheat by any name......

make sure you ended your turn. If you did, then there's no reason your opponent should need your password

YES, it is "Jean". Thanks for the warning, I'll be staying away from him. He says that he is the comander of the French Aircaft Carrier fleet. So he is crazy. I thought he sounded a little "OFF".

But still sometimes it makes me wonder who on earth anybody could find it funny to cheat on a game like this.
Psychologically at least interesting I think. Is that guy doing this out of a habit?

haven´t you read the "Helmut" threads in the opponent wanted subforum? [:D] Now it´s "Jean" and I more and more start to understand the reason for IP bans. [;)]
