Settings disappearing - why?

Went to start a PBEM game and the Soviet player checked all FOW boxes. He ran the first turn without doing anything and sent the game file to me.
When I looked at the settings the Soviet FOW boxes were unchecked while the Axis boxes were indeed still checked. What's up with this? Two players have to do game setup?

There was a bug that we've fixed in the beta 3 patch we are currently testing where the game settings were not frozen in PBEM as they should have been. It is possible to adjust the settings once the game has started. I assume what you are experiencing has to do with that bug and won't be an issue with the new patch that we hope to release this week.
