Game Balance - Germany Still Able to Strike in Spring 1942?

In reality (some examples but not limited to); the Germans started the war to early in 1939, they did not utilise women workers (as did the USA, USSR and Britain), they used slave labour (at about 10% utilisation not including labour sabotage), they delayed Barbarossa (which is 'circular argument' given my previous points), they rejected (and indeed did not really consider) using Russian anti Soviet sentiment to recruit forces and a postive labour force, they used some >40% of their rolling stock to transport Jews (and many others to camps) and so on. Clearly the National Socialist doctines coloured their thinking and judgements and they lost the war!

Both Germany and the Soviets appointed (and got rid of) good military personnel due to political (and paranoid) reasons rather than focusing on ability.

They - the Germans - lost (to quote) because they were Nazis'. But of course the Soviets were even worse - but they 'won' because they had both the 'manpower' and more importantly the regime to totally dominate their peoples - and of course the 'allies' became dependant on Soviet losses and German attrition! But - if Moscow had been taken (the big 'if'), Stalin and Beria would have 'gone'. The Soviets were ripe for the taking - its military forces depleted, its peoples starving and dejected.

The only way to structure a 'what if game' is to totally rewrite the timelines, politics etc.

And I always play the 'loser' - you never know!
