Took Moscow...Now what?

Post by Jdog »

Sorry if this has been addressed but I don't see it anywhere: I took Moscow. It's the Grand Campaign, February 1943, normal difficulty. I thought the war was won but it's been two turns since the fall of Moscow and the game continues. Do I need to reach some point total (the 290 figure) or just hold on until 1945 or both? It seems like a pretty decisive spanking already...Should I expect some incredible Soviet comeback?

Hit "v" and you will see how many victory points you have.  The cities/light urban/urban/major cities all yield points, 290 is an automatic win.

You can look at Charon's AAR to see how far you have to go to get outright win

There was a little Corsican who muttered those same words a while back. [:D]

Normal - you will see some good winter still, especially if you haven't faced the blizzard before. My first full win game was normal and the blizzard shocked me against the AI, in a good way as it should be bad, in my opinion.  With that as a jumping off point (and the bugs removed if you are playing beta4 - you should be), you will win in 42.

If his game is actually Feb '43, then there will be no blizzards (in the first winter sense) and the SU has already blown their big reinforcement years. He should be able to wrap it up by summer.
