If True Update wants to download v2.0 again and again.

Post by Marc von Martial »

If True Update tells you that it wants too download v2.0 allthough you´re 100% sure that you allready have upgraded to v2.0, then please try the below workarounds:

1. Download the attached file and unzip it to your UV root directory (where the exe is located). Run True update and see if this helps. The file should not be necessary if you run v.2.0. But you never know.

This should help you allready, however if not then please do a fresh reinstall:

2. First go to your games PATCHES folder. All you patch files are still located there. Backup the v.2.0 patch file to somewhere on your HD.

Also backup your savegame files, you might want to use them again

Now uninstall UV, then go the partition you formerly installed UV too and delete the complete UV folder, some stuff might noth get unistallled completly.

Then do a fresh reinstal from the CD. Once finished, patch to v2.0 by double clicking the formerly backed up UV patch 2.0 installer.

Now run True update. Everything should work fine.

Hi, I used your little zip file and the update went from thinking I needed the 42meg file to getting the correct download.

My unzip pgm made a separate copy so it wanted to download 2.0 again. I reinstalled and it did the same thing. I finally figured out what the problem was and deleted in INI files and then used your little zip file and things worked.:)

Update problems when CD has V2.0

Post by tbkingsbury »

This may be causing the constant 2.0 update loop for some people. I just bought UV and the version on the CD is 2.0... That would seem to be fine, but Trueupdate still wanted to dl 2.0 all the time, EVEN AFTER YOUR file was downloaded and unzipped. The problem, I discovered, was very simple!!! The "settings.ini" file which had been installed from the CD was showing VERSION 1.40!!!!! I changed this to "2.00" in Notepad, and then Trueupdate worked fine, downloading 2.10, and then 2.11... Please get this on the various boards as soon as possible to help as many frustrated customers as quickly as possible.
