Now that this game is done I can peek and post my remarks.  Interesting see posts by people going off on something they almost know nothing about.

- Bill and I agreed to play with these settings after we had played through 60 turns of beta 2 and significant sov play balanced issues.  We BOTH didn't feel the changes were enough to balance, since nothing with regard to blizzard was changed for axis. Maybe Bill forget this part.

- These were not EASY settings for those that have no clue what those are let me tell you... 120/80 on all settings.  We had forts 75/50, because what we experienced in 42 was a line 3-4 units deep of sov forts at 3-4.  Since blizzard is so harsh on axis, they are really in no shape to attack until 6-7/42 which gives sov player lots of time to build a Maginot line.  I still think units fort too quickly and cause a WWI style line building in early 42.  Morale was set at 80 because of the too effective attacks in 41 and definitely 42 that we saw our last game.  Maybe some of the changes in beta 3 will change that. Also, since moral was still 100 for axis, their units got no special benefit. All the rest of our settings where 100/100

- I re-ran our AGN with the forces involved at 100/100 for all settings.  With the forces Bill had allocated and position in our game it DIDN'T make any difference to taking Leningrad on t5. Not sure he told you but on T5 I had most of 16th, 18th, and 1st Pz all about 10-14 hexes from Leningrad.  On t4 I HQ build-up 1st pz.  On t5 Bill had about 4 inf units close up to my line, this made it easy for my inf os 16th and 18th army to break a hole through for 4 div of a full corps from 1st Pz grp to attack Leningrad.  Bill had ONLY ONE unit (mech div) in a Leningrad hex and the rest of the cities around it were empty.  So a hasty attack by 3 div of that pz corps (all had 48 MP from HQ build-up) was enough to displace that mech div.
* only thing I will say in defense of Bill, that I didn't know until last night, was the armaments bug in beta 4 and that it might have reduced his units.  So I will give him that.

- bottom line is I didn't put a gun to Bill's head to play with these settings.  I played through our last game on beta 2 as axis until the disappearing armies bug(6th, 9th, 11, 1st Pz) ended our game when Rom switched sides after Constanta was invaded.

- I had asked Bill if we could try and recreate our first 5 turns on 100/100 settings (now on beta 5 too) to see how much would change and what the situation in Leningrad would have been.  I was NOT trying to impose this on Bill for anything more than just some research value as too how much the settings hurt the sov player. That was my only intention. Now that I re-ran AGN with 100/100 I know more, however, it now is invalidated because of the armaments bug with I didn't know about until recently.

- I'm a bit distrubed by all the 'girl' like chattiness on this thread about this game and how I was 'making' Bill play under an unfair pretense.  Once again no gun to his head.
Many of you like to talk out of your ass just to cause drama where there is none.  In the future maybe get both sides before you speak about a topic that you only know half the story and look like a fool in doing so.  Although the comments were mostly by people I already assume to be fools and thus are excused since they never had any of soft skills or common sense to begin with.

I wish Bill gl with his next game. He's a good opponent on either side. I know Bill will be doing some AT Gold testing and probably me too. Thus, starting another game with any hope of it getting completed or keeping any momentum is probably not in the cards for us.

We'll see. If I get drive again I'll look for another PBWM game with 100/100 setting, so people don't have the opportunity to get so excited again.

One of my first posts was that we agreed on these settings. And like i said i was willing to finish the game but i figure you'd eventually have become bored after mowing me down :)

Yea i was mostly pissed that units i had outside leningrad since t1-t2 didn't have forts enough (1 in some places if lucky) to stop you so i pulled everyone forward hoping that it would hit enough of your MP with my ZOC to slow you down a bit. But to see that you pushed through all those hexes plus the hexes outside leningrad which didn't have any forts after turns of preparing them really was upsetting.

- bottom line is I didn't put a gun to Bill's head to play with these settings.  I played through our last game on beta 2 as axis until the disappearing armies bug(6th, 9th, 11, 1st Pz) ended our game when Rom switched sides after Constanta was invaded.
Like i said in here and to you this game was as off balance as our first game where i was able to smack around the german panzer corp stacks like they were nothing. ;) And i said you put a gun to my head.

I know it was for research but like i said i was not interested in that. As the soviets you build your line from rzhev on down but everything else (at least for me) is reactionary to what the germans do. I wasn't willing to put time into that when it's pretty clear to me that there is no way the russians can be competitive without the ability to build forts. On some parts of my rzhev line that had units since t1-t2 i didn't even have a fort level of 1 by t5. And that is really the only thing that's going to be a road bump to the germans. Then couple that with the morale issue and my guys were at most 49 morale. And that was i guess my best unit :) everything else was much lower. I'm still willing to finish the game so you get your fun. But it's the same as you being a good sport last game and trying to finish our game knowing germany was going to get owned early. :)

heh you just gotta ignore your fan club. There is nothing you will be able to say to change that. Like the knuckle head who called me a troll just hit the little Green button to block them and your blood pressure will stay sane.

heh relax man it's just a game and nothing to get the blood pressure over. I will enjoy us working on finishing the AT GOLD WAW weather system if the new editor has any of the suggestions i posted years ago. And if i get accepted to the beta program which is still unknown to me. Heh remember the number of times we had to restart WaW because some stuff was off one way or the other. Love you man we can hug it out later.

We rely on you to create some good old fashoned drama mate. In this thread I see absolutely no drama at all, only comedy [:D]
thus are excused since they never had any of soft skills or common sense to begin with.

Well I have to laugh at those here that think my posts reflect the fact that I'd consumed by emotions over some posts by morons or just uninformed people. Truth is I don't care. The world is full of idiots (by choice or not), I don't lose any sleep over it. The fact that some of them make it on to this forum <cough -TulliusDetritus>, is no surprise to me. Law of averages. Would I want or have any desire to have a friendship with them? lol, really?

I'll just state my case when I feel I need to and you can take it or leave it.

If there are any emotions it's probably more humor and possible some pity on some (although diminishes fast). I'm quite relaxed and comfortable with my stance here and away from the forum. There's always going to be the TulliusDetritus that have to post nonsense and think they have something of value to say when in reality they don't. Once again, I don't care about these people. He's predictable too, as I'm sure he'll post some more imbecilic banter sprinkled with his usual 'smileys'. Hey, if it adds relevance to his life.. good for him and his special needs.

Most of you I have no issues with and will continue to read your posts.

Im playin the computer axis on hard.

Its mind numbing checkboarding and railing the reinforcements around.

Odessa is gonna be held with 2 Rifle Divisions and a commanding Airborne HQ. I'm no gonna waste an Army HQ on it.

I just ntoiced you can attach more than 30 RR Brigades to a fortified region. Only 3 non eng/const though. I personally only attach 3 but clicked one too many times. Then I quicksaved and had 30 plus RR brigades attached.

Better still... my broadband is down. Dial up connection sucks... It's gonna take 30 minutes to download the two turn files for my WITPAE game. I dont wanna delay. 1200 turns must be done inside 4 years.
