Doesn't matter - it seems these were the guys (in the first article) that x-ray your luggage, and get to go through it. Unless you are carrying everything, you are vulnerable... and even then they can still get you going through the gate security (although these thefts often occur by organized non-FTA thieves.)ORIGINAL: Kwik E Mart
chump change compared to this b*tch (or is it tw*t?)...good thing i use the automated kiosks mostly now...

We've had a number of items pilfered from checked luggage in the past. My sister-in-law had several hundred dollars worth of stuff stolen, apparently by FTA. She filed a complaint, but never heard a reply (AFAIK).
EDIT: And unfortunately, the employees can often get credit card numbers (and other info) from their computer system even if you didn't deal with them directly.

They shouldn't be able to. They may keep your card number but that little number on the back (used for customer not present transactions) should never be stored. Even the card number should be kept only in an encrypted database. For more info Google PCI-DSS

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Depends on what company you are dealing with. My gas company just got rid of their entire billing department because some employees were making off with credit card info and other stuff. [:(] Hopefully the company they outsourced it to will do better.ORIGINAL: sprior

I have apologized three times already. She won't accept it. All I can hope for is that it'll at least be less icy between us after a while.
It was horrible today, sitting next to someone who used to be really friendly, and having this sheet of ice between us.
It's tough when you tell a female that their beloved isn't up to snuff...
Good Thread, I didn't tell her that! I'm not suicidal.
What I did was such a stupid accident, but she won't accept it.
Yesterday, I went into her office at the end of the day to say goodbye. We'd gotten to the stage where I could hug her in a friendly way, and so I leaned in to do that, and when I went to put my cheek against hers I hadn't turned my face enough, and my lips brushed against her face. She thinks I was trying to kiss her, which I was not, believe me.
I knew it advance that she couldn't handle being called "honey" or "sweetie" by anybody but her fiancee, so the idea that I would attempt to kiss her on the cheek or anywhere else... Well, she thinks I did it on purpose.
It's so stupid, and I would give my left leg (including FrankenToe) to have it never had happened...[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]
dam, T...that sux...it's why i just shake hands with any and all females at work...if you didn't have to work so close to her, i'd say forget her...anyone not willing to forgive a friend a mistake like that isn't worth having as a friend in the first place...

Do you think she'll file a sexual harrassment complaint? Here in the US....you can get one just from someone of the opposite sex overhearing a conversation not to her taste.
Unlikely, thank Thread. There's no tradition of that sort of thing in this country.
Sigh, what a rotten day. I think I'll call in sick tomorrow and just burrow for the weekend. See if I can't pick up the pieces...

And the system containing the database must be firewalled off from your entire network allowing only authenticated data access through it, etc, ad nauseum.
I spent 3 hours going through that bureaucratic nightmare and promptly declared to my superiors that we would no longer be storing any kind of credit card data whatsoever.

Probably why the local gas company stopped doing so... of course, they waited until AFTER somebody made off with customer info.ORIGINAL: Mynok

Know where you are at T. Think of it this way. Even if you had tried to give her a kiss on the cheek who cares. 30% of the world kisses everyone's cheek....
Get that attitude up. You are not wrong. It is that attitude she wants to see. Stomp in there like MacArthur going back into the PI and show her you didn't do anything wrong. That attitude of being wrong that you are currently showing is telling her that you did do something wrong. Act the way you see it. Don't wait for her lead...

Well, I'm now officially no longer friends with Mrs. McDull. What a sucktastic day.[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]
An acquaintance of mine just lost his wife to cancer. He's got a 4 year old boy now with no mother. Bad days are relative.
Man, that does truly suck.

hell hath no fury........and they never ever forget a percieved slight.
I've known three formally close plutonic female friends of whom a disagreement/POV breach occured. None of the three ever spoke to me again. Nothing would fix it.
