Oh dear indeed [:D]

... and yes, I had a season card 92/93 as well. I've tried (desperately) to forget those final games [:'(]
One interesting thing is that all the times we have met in a playoff, we have eliminated you. The only time you won the championships, we did not reach the playoffs (or were eliminated earlier, I dont recall).
True. You're definitely our bogey team.
As for yesterdays game, LHF have no one to blame but themselves. Creating that many scoring chances without doing goals is supposed to be punished. They are at least creating those chances, and I pity the team that's meeting us when we start to score on at least a small percentage of those.

Well, I just hope we reach the playoffs and dont have to qualify...its so tight down there right now Im having nightmares about getting sucked into that.
I really don't think you (or I) have to worry about that. We're 11 points ahead of the team in 9th place with only six games to go. I find it highly unlikely (if even mathematically possible) that all those teams behind could reach us to put us out of the play-offs.

Good morning, THREAD dudes. Expecting 6-12" of wet, heavy snow today. Since we had a very welcome thaw, I was able to use the grill last night and grill up some steaks. We'll have another chance to use the grill in another month or so. [8|]

This is my first, feeble attempt at such a thing. I have no clue what I am doing, so decided to go with a real picture I could cut down. Then decided to use a very simple description. Man do I have a lot to learn. This is all I could muster up during tax season. I will keep working on it [:)]

As an aside, I did a little research on the Tennessee's tour of duty. Sort of interesting how Art imitates life. She was awarded 10 Battle stars. She mainly supported ground troops one way or another, getting to blow the crap out of more than a dozen islands. She also participated in the Battle of Surigao Strait. And that is pretty much what my BB's do in my game, blow up stuff on land, and MAYBE get in a scrap with an enemy BB now and again [:)]

(2nd attempt to post this, wierd)

The Tennessee is my favorite BB from the ones sitting in Pearl Harbor on December 7, mainly because I was born in Savannah, Tennessee while dad was the historian at Shiloh battlefield. So guess what happened at the start of my PBEM against ChezDaJez? Yep, the Tennessee was the only BB sunk in his attack... [:(]

I have been all over that place ! Made the trip dozens of times through the years.

As a kid and teenager, we used to camp and visit Gettysburg almost every summer. I love the place. When I was living in Memphis I finally got a chance to visit Shiloh. What a wonderfully designed and maintained park! By far my favorite battlefield I have ever visited! I can't recommend making a visit to anyone with any interest in military history highly enough. For our British brothers, have you any tips for excursions around London for our sphere of interest? It has to be accessible by public transport, and not too expensive. I'm seriously considering taking a little holiday around Easter, and haven't been to London for nearly two decades.

If you go to Tower Hill stop by the Merchant Navy memorial and say a quiet thanks.

Simon, where is the RAF museum in London? I missed that one when I was in London (but quite by accident I had found a nice little one at Hawkinge Airfield near Dover - I was riding my bike back to London on quiet backroads when I saw a sign for it).

It's going to be tense tomorrow morning. We won't be commuting to work together, that's for sure; I don't think it would be sensible for me to be alone with her without witnesses... Weird, tragic, strange...
