Thanks for the words of support chaps. It's kind of complicated, but the short version is that since Josh was born Clare has felt a bit isolated. I knew something was wrong but couldn't work out what and she wouldn't/couldn't tell me and we ended up retreating into our own little corners. It was made worse by the fact that we're stuck in the arse end of Oxfordshire away from her family(and mine as well). She knows she messed up, but things aren't beyond repair and we've both learned important lessons. The thing is that my being in the air force is part of the reason she's homesick, if I'm not getting signed on then we've only got 1 1/2 years at most here, if I get the offer to stay on then we need to (a) decide if I should stay in the mob, and (b) if I do I need to start the ball rolling to get a posting closer to home.
Thanks for posting. Sorry for your difficulties, mate. The first year after a new baby is born sees some difficult adjustments in many households. Particularly so when you are isolated as you are.
I have mixed feelings about being stuck in the frozen tundra, away from most of my family in CA, AZ and TX. We don't know anyone here that we can rely on other than some friends. When you're working full time with a young family, it's very difficult to meet new friends and foster those relationships too. It must be doubly so for someone in the service.
On balance though, I think Mrs. Chickenboy and I would say that this has been a good place for us to start a family due precisely to the isolation and distance. Our children will be raised in the manner that we select (fraught with chaos and indecision as it is), not whichever inlaw happens to be vying for the child's favor at any point in time. We will be our own family unit, whatever that may be, in whatever 'post-nuclear' form that is. Although she's a fine lady-we couldn't have done this were we living next door to my MIL unit.
Anyways, not all bad, mate. Maybe some advantages to being stuck in BFE / East Gbiv and all. Sorry for your rough patch and truly hope things smooth out for you all soon.

Morning tithe... This kevlar vest sure is heavy...
Actually, strictly kevlar vests don't stop stabbing attacks. There was at least 1 fatal demo to a salesman who thought it would. [X(] It doesn't provide good protection against cutting action. Similarly, they aren't proof against arrows with hunting broadheads which are razorsharp.
Some vests have "hard" inserts which do provide protection.
Interestingly, they ("bulletproof" vests) also provide good protection in car crashes.

Got anywhere from 17" in the South Metro to something like 8" up here in the North Metro. Decent snowstorm, but really surprised that they have delayed opening for the University this morning 'till noon.ORIGINAL: Onime No Kyo

Sounds like there's room for repair. I hope it works out.
