Post by varjager »

I have a small question.I have lost India and the Japs have invaded Darwin. But there seems to be no way to activate the troops under there command. All the Britt troops that have arrived in USA just takes up space cause i cant use them.THe chinese troops dont move either.I think that if the Japs invaded Australia the Aussies would fight like hell to kick them out.But they dont do **** now.Cost a fortune just to move a Div.Could any one please advice?

Invading India?

Post by boggle »

Sorry, no idea how to fix your problems. But I'm quite astonished that you can successfully invade India with Japan. In the game I play vs the AI (3.1) I'm at Calcutta, but make no headway. My invasion of Ceylon has been rejected and I simply lack the PP to do any major action in India there right now. Also the British are plentyful there.

I think that he is talking about the 2 Canadian Divisions on the West Coast.

There is a thing called "LIMITED HEADQUARTERS", that gives activation PP penalties, as well as does not allow you to load LCU's on ships, for specific HQ's (KMT, ANZAC, CEA, KWANTUNG, 4th ARMY, IGHQ). This was done to limit the movement of these units from their defensive regions (i.e., you are not allowed to move LCU's from China to the Pacific until you are given them by an auto HQ switch in the EXE).

The best thing you can do is to grab an Australian/US formation attached to SW Pacific to take care of any landings. Those attached to these limited HQ's are good for pretty much only defensive operations (however, late war the Japanese CEA is fairly effective on the attack). It will take a concentrated attack to break these limited HQ units.

Specific Australian formations will start attached to SW Pacific. The others were militia units, which were not allowed to be sent overseas.

There is one possibility. Use a turn when both sides are re-grouping and there is likely to be minimal combat in Australia. Then, activate several LCU's but make sure to activate the ones closest to the front first. The Australian LCU's can be activated with zero preparation points left, but their readiness will drop way down. So, move the units into position that one turn, wait for the PP's to come back, and then fight on subsequent turns. Also, grab whatever SW Pacific troops you can spare and send them to Darwin. ANZAC is considered a "sub-HQ" of SW Pacific, so they can fight quite effectively--and they don't consume anywhere near the PP's that ANZAC LCU's do.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Thanks for the advice.Who is best to put in charge of SW.Cause they start the turns with 100PP.Central pacific starts the turns with 200pp.The troops i was talking about are the troops that comes back after India has fallen. That means alot of Indian and Britt Div are in San fransico.Could have better use for them any where else.
