Crash at Start!! v. 1. 0. 6

Post by mcpot86 »

Hi!
I bought and downloaded the game, v106, but at start it said the "Error at Line 35" warning, and crushed. So I did what it said on the forums, deleted all old .NET files and downloaded the newest version again, but it still does exactly the same thing! I tried and tried again, uninstalling the whole thing but in vain. Deleted all cookies and closed all applications too.
Please help me, as I dont want to throw 40 bucks in the bin.
Thank you[&:]

If you can take a screenshoot you can post it here for Elliot to check it, maybe we can also recognize some known issue. Not all crashes are .NET related.
Welcome to the community, mcpot86, hope you get past this soon.

Try to set your locale to en-us.

No changes, still crashes at start, always the same message. This is getting annoying. Is there a possibility of refunding??! Anyway thank you very much for trying getting this solved, i bet you've done all you could![:(]

MissingMethodException suggests that something might be installed wrong.  Could you try reinstalling the game?

Hi mcpot86

This looks like the upgrade to 1.0.6.0 is not complete - some of the Distant Worlds game components appear to be from an older version (maybe the original 1.0.1?)

Please reapply the 1.0.6.0 upgrade. If you still get this problem then reinstall Distant Worlds into a new folder, then apply the 1.0.6.0 update to that.

Thanks
Elliot

hi,
Thanks for the advices, I tried upgrading it, I uninstalled and re installed the whole lot, I even tried re-downloading the product from the net but they wouldn't let me cos my purchase date limit has expired. Should I try installing a pirated 1.0.1 version to see if it'd work?

purchase date limit expiration prevents downloading temporarily, you can call them and they'll send you the new link
