Die Mausefalle Krieg. DivePac(A) vs mikemcmann(S) **No mikemcmann**

Post by DivePac88 »

Greetings gentlemen and Ladies, this will be my miserable attempt to write an AAR of the 1941-45 Grand Campaign against the able mikemcmann. I will attempt to be as descriptive as I can, and to post situation maps as much as possible.

IT begins... I move east in the morning into the never-ending Russian Motherland, against mikemcmann's innumerable Red hordes. I have an overall strategic plan that I will follow, and I will fill you in on as we progress into this AAR.

***In Progress***

Divepac, you and your family okay? I've been out of the loop, but I know Christchurch took a hard hit with the earthquakes. All the AE folk wish you (and Wobby, who is also from that area?) the best.

Hi Canoerebel,

Family and I are OK thanks, as we live about 400km to the south-west of Christchurch. But I was on the seventh floor of the Dunedin hospital building (about 300KM South), and it was a pretty scary ride I can tell you. But Wobbly would be the one I would be worried about, as he lives in Christchurch it's self.

My real name is David so i'm not worried by any goliaths and I'm a lawyer too, so he will be toast, or perhaps more like a lump of ice by end of Feb '42

OK here we go with the first turn, which is maybe somewhat conservative compared to some players. But I am transferring a lot of units from the two southern army groups to AGN, and was just happy with securing better jumping-off positions.

ARMY GROUP NORTH,

This will be my priority army group until the capture of Leningrad, and numerous units are being transferred from the other two army groups. The main strategy here will be to advance on the Leningrad as fast as possible. Pocketing and distruction of Russian forces here will only be a secondary consideration. The basic operational planning here is for 16th and 18th Armies to advance with 4th Panzer covering the southern flank.

ARMY GROUP CENTRE,

With the phasing of all the operations of the two southern army groups depending on the capture f Leningrad by AGN. AGC operational tasking is the destruction and follow-up of Russian Forces in front of Smolensk. 2nd Panzer has already established a Russian pocket in Poland, and plans in conjunction with 3rd Panzer to establish another before Minsk.

ARMY GROUP SOUTH,

Very small gains here, as the focus of early operations in Russia will be in the north. Panzer Group 1 has made limited advances to the east. This was done to secure good jump-off positions for a advance on Vinnitsa. The securing of the Vinnitsa area would be to out-flank any Russian operations against Hungary or Rumanian. AGS medium-term objective is the capture of Kiev, and the army group retains enough forces to achieve this.
