After the massive landmark update, TOAW III worth the buy?

Post by Templer_12 »

Hi,
is Norm Koger's The Operational Art of War III now, after the massive landmark update, worth to buy it?

Right now I'm in love with Gary Grigsby's War in the East. [:)]

But I have long cast an eye on TOAW III.
In the past I would have already almost purchased TOAW III, but at the last second, I gave the call to Advanced Tactics.
Advanced Tactics is certainly a great game but somehow not my cup of tea. So my money lost there.

Now with the massive Landmark update, I wonder do this update significantly improves the game and making TOAW III more challenging?

TOAW was worth buying, and was challenging and engrossing even before the release of the latest patch...

Definitely.

The recent patch includes more updates, bugfixes and new features than the step from the "A Century of Warfare"-Edition (COW) to TOAW III.

TOAW III is the only thing I play anymore.  It's that good.

TOAW III is one of only three games I play anymore. It's that good. I wouldn't say "It's the best." But it's darn close.

TOAW III is still in my top three or four favorites after all these years, along with Steel Panthers, and Gary Grigsbys WBTS. Every time I get a new box, it is one of the first things that I import.
