Ok, just one more Noob General question

Empires in Arms is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. Empires in Arms is a seven player game of grand strategy set during the Napoleonic period of 1805-1815. The unit scale is corps level with full diplomatic options

reading a thread here, it seemed the consensus that this game's AI bites. As I noob, would players here discourage getting into this games' AI?

No, I would not say that. Certainly play against the AI for practice. It is a good teaching tool, but the real challenge is to play against human players. You will likely walk all over the AI by your second game, but don't expect this to happen when playing against human players.

I'll echo this. For noobs starting completely from scratch, there are enough challenges just learning the game basics. The AI is fine for helping you to learn the game. Most of us are still learning!

The v1.08.05 hotfix should be out anytime now and will provide the most stable game yet for having resolved many lingering bugs, smoothing out pbem play, and enhancing the pbem admin editor. Marshall is talking about another v1.08.06 hotfix to resolve a few more game bugs and then shifting focus to some AI improvements in v1.09.

My point here is that now (with v1.08.05 at least, when it's posted) is a great time for noobs and previously discouraged players to give EiANW a go. For noobs, by the time you get to the point of genuine frustration with the AI, hopefully it will be updated to be less frustrating. I'm trying to be optimistic here! [:)]
