Can't get full resolution

Topic says it....can't get 2560x1440 with this game. I CAN with Cross of Iron and Last Stand Arnhem, but not this one. Even though I select and it shows up, when I start the game I get a different resolution that doesn't take up the whole screen (3 inch black bands on both sides). Any hints? Thank you.

Does it allow to select the resolution? Then it doesn't use for certain maps?

Depending on the map size the game sometimes adds a black border or lowers the resolution to allow the map to run. In CC5 and earlier CC games the game would crash if the map was a lower resolution than the screen resolution.

Hrmm....I'm not sure. In the other games, the initial opening screen is in the right resolution...it's pretty small. In this one, even the opening screen is in a large resolution...1024x768 or something. I'll try choosing a big map..maybe that will help.

The non battle screens are a fixed resolution of 1024x768 they do not change regardless of your resolution. In the battle screen size is determined by your selection under Options and is effective the next time you start the game for the battles.
