Made the 6 hour drive from Baltimore to Raleigh yesterday, picked up Alex, changed bags, and drove another 2 hours to the hotel at the beach for his championship hockey tournament.  The kids won their first game this morning, 5-4 and have another in a couple of hours, followed by tailgating.  [8D]

We spent about 2 hours down at the beach and the pool this afternoon.....fantastic times.  [:)]

Meanwhile, we've a house of 3.5-4 year olds that we're hosting for our daughter's birthday party. Hmmm...a houseful of birthday celebrants or sitting by the pool? Birthday celebrants or sitting on the beach? Hard choice.

I know! I'll opt for choice "C": A full frontal lobotomy! Problem is I've already had two of 'em. They just don't "take". [;)]

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Onime No Kyo

I have a very odd desire to install Rome TW. [:D]

Most excellent thing (I prefer the mods to original though)!

Leo "Apollo11"

Never tried any. Could you point me to a good one?

I always used so-called "Darth Formations" - this changed the formations in RTW to more logical / historical ones and even somehow improved AI behavior of those units!

That looks very interesting. I never did get the hang of the Roman manipular formation since it was such a pain to set up manually.

I never did install the game. Spent too much time getting my butt kicked in Red Orchestra. [:D]

I wish GFU would come back already so that she could stop me from wasting my time on mindless computer games. [:D]

Refresh my memory. What ships can be converted to ARs and the like? It used to be 7000 ton AKs but when I tried converting AKs in San Francisco on turn 1 as the Allies only a few had the option to convert and only to AGs.
Some of the larger xAKs can convert to ARs (and other auxiliaries). Click on the ship you are thinking of converting. If possible to convert to AR, it will be visible as a conversion option in the lower right hand corner of the ship info screen. Several of the AR conversions aren't available at the beginning of the war (for the Japs, not until June 1942 IIRC). Lastly, conversion to AR takes many months-between 180 and 360 days.

Hmmm ... I haven't seen any ship that can be converted to AR's. Absolutely no ships on turn 1. Maybe later in the war. I'm in the beginning of 43 and haven't seen any ship yet with that particular conversion possibility. Lots of AEs, AKEs, AGs & xAPs. No ARs though.

This might be one of those Allies v. Japanese things. My response above was exclusively referring to the Japanese situation.

Oh, and beer. Did I mention the beer? [:D]

At our tailgate after the second win today, two of the dads who brew excellent beer each brought a tank.
