Close Combat - Cross of Iron is based on Atomic Games award Winning Close Combat Series. Close Combat is a real time game were you take command of German or Soviet squads on the Eastern Front during World War II. This version is being developed by CSO Simtek and will include many new features and improvements.

Map improvements, multiplayer updates, and plenty of other improvements headed to the front

Matrix Games and Strategy 3 Tactics are proud to release the comprehensive 3.50.01 for their acclaimed Close Combat remake, Close Combat – Cross of Iron. The update comes with a handful of bug fixes, over a dozen recoded maps that handle walls and obstructions with improved coding conventions, improved and updated support for multiplayer features, and more.

Close Combat: Cross of Iron thrusts the player into a variety of tactical situations where the outcome of seemingly small engagements can dictate the entire course of the Second World War. Players start off as a junior officer leading their men into intense tactical battles in real time in any of the several classic Close Combat campaigns or the massive new Fuger's Ostliche Wut, or Fuger's Eastern Fury campaign. As players survive and win through the thickest, most intense period of fighting during the conflict, they will find themselves negotiating a wide variety of terrain, weather conditions, and enemies. Such diversity of circumstances will see the player advancing across the frozen winter, hot dusty summer, and muddy autumn all within one of several immersive campaigns.

Close Combat: Cross of Iron also includes vast improvements to the Close Combat multiplayer support with a new multiplayer campaign system for battles. The service consists of a Campaign Server to which players connect to play a Strategic Campaign. With the option to either play against the AI or in a unique Massive Multiplayer Campaign, players can connect to the action any day and at any time and fight battles against other human opponents as often as they like.

Wow, that was out of the blue, very cool! The multiplayer campaign sounds very interesting, maybe time to get CoI reinstalled [:D]

The MP campaign sounds like they are talking about MMCC3. A great part of COI, the Bloody Omaha MMCC3 campaign is a ton of fun.

This is essentially the beta patch released months ago. The only differences between the two readme.pdf files are changes to Command Center URLs and the fact that this patch is not the beta version.

The patch states its updating ModSwap and MMCC3.

After installing this patch my ModSwap stays at v1.0 and MMCC3 stays at 1.03r.

Can anyone else confirm this?
