I'll mind the shop if you do the laundry and scrub out the garage trash cans. [:'(]

Good Thread, NO! I wouldn't dream of laying a finger on anybody I work for, beyond a handshake when I first meet them. That's professional suicide!

I hope so. I used to be good at not letting the PHB's get to me. Of course, the PHB I have now has never been a PHB before, so she's got a lot of ideas without the experience of what works or not.

Good Grief! That bad! [X(]

In Sweden we usually say that 2nd Lt isn't a rank, it's 1/ An awkward state of being (much like adolescence) and 2/ A wandering catastrophe waiting for the perfect moment to occur.

Thinking about starting in on Ken Burns' Civil War series.  I haven't watched it in 7 or 8 years.  I may try to talk my son into watching with me.  [:)]

Need a new book, any recommendations?  Maybe something with a Mediterranean or Cold War feel to it.  Just read Fire in the Sky, Panzer Destroyer and Tunnelling to Freedom and started Burma, The Longest War.

Re: Mediterranean

Dixie, if you have not read Vincent O'Hara's Struggle for the Middle Sea then I thoroughly recommend it. Not entirely convinced he is looking at the performance of the Regia Marina in the right way, but a very good read regardless.

in US Navy brown-shoe land, we used to solve that problem by keeping them in training until they made the next rank (Ensign -> LTjg)...once in an operational squadron, the nugget j.g.'s were affectionately known as the "buyer of the first round" in the O'club on friday night, or the "toter of the crypto gear" (NFO) and "filer of the flight plan" (Pilot) during preflight on cold, rainy days/nights (the distance from Operations to the plane parking spot was usually just far enough to ensure thourough soakage by the time take off came around - of course, we never bothered to tell them that the duty section in Ops usually had a vehicle and driver that would have given them a lift)...the black-shoes pretty much ate their own, as far as i could tell...[:D]
