Scoring Stategic VPs as Japan

Post by RUPD3658 »

The manual; says that VPs can be scored for damaging industry in Hawaii but in my current game I accidentally hit the repair yard at PH but scored no VPs. I even loaded the game as the Allies to ensure it wasn't a FOW issue. Any ideas?

In my Allied pbem my opponent scored a couple of Victory Points from his attack on the Repair Shipyards at Pearl Harbor on Turn 1. But he hammered the Repair Yards to a Level 47 damage, so maybe there is a minimum threshold that needs to be past in order to score points, and your attack didn't reach it.

I am trying to figure out if it is worth sticking around an extra day to trash the indusrty before the KB heads home.

It's not, at least if you think about points. You just lose more points (planes).

Many players have a HR that prevents any strategic bombing of industry until mid-43. If not, then Japan will bomb China out of any supply and the Allies will bomb anything that is in range of 4e bombers from the start. Burma will not help Japan at all as it all bombed into rubble.
