Supply from captured cities

Post by jlevans »

I read in the manual that supply can be sourced from the hexes on or adjacent to cities which, I assume means the supplies and fuel found in
captured cities can be used by the units that captured it if they locate there. Makes sense.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to work. Is this a known bug or is there some other unwritten criteria I'm not aware of?

I think it does work, but it would depend on if the supplies are in the city or not (eg, they might have been consumed in the logistics phase prior).

I recall once, playing vs the AI, that I ran a panzer division into Kiev around turn 3 or 4 - pushing well beyond safety - and was really surprised to see it was fully supplied the next turn!

But I don't see it happen that much, so perhaps you are right and there's something buggy?

Intermittant issue perhaps?

Before posting this, I did a test and found that the fuel and supplies in Minsk(20K fuel, 700 supplies) was not changed in any way at the beginning of the next turn and my panzers were still low on fuel and supplies.

I also remembering reading somewhere in these posts that a captured city does not contribute its fuel and supplies until it is connected into the rail system.
In the post, this was referred to as a yet to be fixed bug. While the criteria for rail connection does make sense for contributing to the front-wide supply pool, it doesn't for fueling Corps HQ locally. It also makes the manual statement I referred to earlier superfluous as being on or adjacent to a city that is connected by rail is the same thing as being on or adjacent to a railhead.

Anyone reading this know definitively?

Correct. No bug.
