I am just starting this scenario, don't tell me its flawed...[:@]

I have no time for PBEM, but I was starting to win in the orginal version of the game so I thought I would try this. I have it on very hard and extremely variable.

What kind of feedback are you looking for? Like I said I just started so as far as it plays I am still chippin at the first turn.

If your looking for opinions on what the AI Jap side might do I might have a few. Basically push its bounderies past Historic lines, ie take PH, Darwin, try to cut the supply path to Oz or make it difficult.
Maybe do some research on weapons they didn't develope, and develope them. I can't remember off the top of my head just getting home here after a 13hr night but I do know that they had some bad luck and some flawed planning.
Besides the fact that the Army didn't get along with the Navy. I would try to keep the Allied side Historic though. aka keep the game engine the same so as if we are getting are butts kicked we may get additional (stuff).

[:-]If you have done any of these things DON'T TELL ME. I wanna be surprised [:D] Maybe start a seperate sticky on this scenario.

I tried it as my 1st game vs the AI and havnt found anything much flawed in it at all. I suspect/hope Andy might be referring to more tweaks rahther than a complete re-write.

Its a real challenge . but give the AI some wiggle room too as its way over agressive with empty CV's (maybe corrected with AI improvements over the past patches , not re tried it tbh).

Andy could you provide a list of changes whrn your done tinkering please. Thank you.

and much kudos to andy for continuing to do more work on this and the many scenarios he has produced for us. All we need is a may 42 start game vs a bastard hard japan with human intelligence AI [;)]
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

It seems to me it just needs to be brought up to date with the changes made to scen 1 and 2, particularly in China. I assume you are doing that already. Otherwise it is pretty darned good.

I personally prefer the sub tube modifications incorporated into Da Babes Lite, but I can live without it as well.

Andy,

I just downloaded the Beta patch, does it contain the latest Scen 10? Or do you have a more recent version somewhere?

I am in 09/1942 US vs Japan (AI)

The number of planes that IJA/IJN can daily commit are in hundrets. Although half of pilots were aces untill today Japan lost 4720 planes with a 10/1 loss ratio.
Have to admit i raised US by 100% in replacement of planes and developed few key bases, added some repair shipyards for US and Japan.

The amount of divisions that Japan has is equal to the number of brigades of all allies combined, although sometime it feels like it equals the number of squads.

With raplacements/upgrades turned for whole PHI. the forces at Clark Field managed to hold up for months, chewing 6 divisions of IJA + numerous other units. AI just didnt have 3:1 AV strenght when it he commited and during months reinforcing divisions did little to overall strenght. Dunno why AI attacked with 2000AV for 5 months when it could bring 5.000 AV in february 1942

Japan was too slow on building in Guinea area, so it couldnt match my Port Moresby assets.
AI did poor job trying to invade Port Moresby and lost all but 4 BB's (that's how many 10 BB's? those surviving 4 were badly damaged). Without adequate CAP, 5 or 6 bombardment groups with 2 BB's in each were a easy meal for combined forces of US carriers and Brittish BB's. When invasion for PM came, it was without CAP or BB's so it went to the bottom of the sea.
AI could have easily wiped whole PM and US carriers with 10 CV + numerous CVE full of aces that it still has but never showed near PM. I expected hundrets of ships in TF for amphib. on PM and got nothing more than bunch or disorganized rabble and not the mighty army of the rising sun.

Kwlajeen is in US hands and nearly fully developed to support mayor offensive on Raboul. Fortress R. has only 120AV and that is ateast 10X less what i expected.

mid 09/1942 tried combined airborne (3X30av) and amphib (2X70av in tanks, 60av in combat eng and 50av in elite infantry) invasion on Truk which had only 34av but was lev 8 fort. I only got 1/8 assault odds. Poor quality defenders had 340AV in resolution phase with what i cant agree with. Considering forces i had and defenders, US should have easily secured Truk. Lev 8 fortifications are just too much, not to mention naval batteries nailed 3 of my BB's ecorting aphibias.

Nothing happened on India front beside US/Brits are making aces on poor bombers&fighters flying from akyab. No aphib assault on mainland or Colombo.
No assault on darwin or australia in general, and no attack on numea, suva, pago pago area.

on 10.09.1942. Japan produces 3.5k planes a year from which 550 obsolete oscars and nates, but only 5 Tojos? to give IJA fighting chance tojos should be available and focused in production from 06/1942. There are too many betties/nells and sony/lily bombers in production that are nearly useless and should be more Helens.

In 09/1942 i feel ready for a bit of offensive but i dont and will not have AV to tackle with the might of IJA, maybe to speed some quality reinforcments for US, Australia and the Brits? Without more airframes for US and Brits that i have edited, game wouldn't be enjoyable so maybe to buff a bit few key mid 1942 fighters and carrier groups especially avengers and daunless.

Coordination during amphib assaults is poor, rarely CV and naval surfice TF support amhib, what makes them easy targets.

Hi, have been playing this (allied vs AI) but probably an older version (I seem to remember downloading it about the time of the original post by you here). Just found an error and just wanted to report it in case you haven't noticed it.

On 1/7-43 US army air unit #3831 arrives @ US East Coast.
Unit name: 407th BG/633th BS (should be 633rd BS?)
Equipped with A-24B, max size 16. But it arrives with 122 A/C and 122 pilots!

Imagine my delight at having replacements for these babies but assuming this is a typo as the other two sqn's in the group arrived with a 12/12 strength.

Just wanted to let you know.

Great scenario otherwise - I have zero chance of engaging in PBEM but this gives me more than value for money!

Cheers,
Mattias

I posted this in the other thread too but I don't think I ever got a response: Is there a difference between 'Ironman' and 'Ironman Allied'? I keep getting the impression that if Ironman is a scenario for an Allied player vs. Super Japanese AI, then Ironman Allied is a scenario for a Japanese player vs. Super Allied AI

Is this the case?
