Is slitherine down? Beginning a few days ago it stopped sending email notifications of new turns. Now I'm unable to log in and I get a message saying a new version (of what?) is available.

Same here. Multiplayer menu hangs for a while. Then there are no saved games listed.

I just logged on to a game okay, although I too have not been getting turn update emails for a few days now.

I've never gotten turn update e-mails, how do you do that? BTW I received a turn fine this morning.

Never did anything to receive emails. They just arrived, quite handy. Then they stopped.

Have you guys checked your spam filters? I'm still getting my notifications. When I started playing PBEM games through the Slitherine server, the first couple of notices went to my Inbox, and then all of a sudden, the notice went to my Spam folder. After flagging the service as "Not Spam" I haven't had any problems since.

Occasionally, the game list comes up blank when I get logged in, but refreshing the login seems to get the list back up. Not saying there wasn't a problem last night, but there are things on the user end you might try doing first to see if it is working.

Not getting email is almost certainly an ISP issue - we've been seeing us getting flagged as spam more and more, probably because we're sending more and more email notifiactions as the PBEM server gets more and more popular. We're trying to chase them one by one, but it's pretty whackamole, so check your spam folders, and if it's simple pop off a mail to your ISP letting them know that you want mail from us!

Cheers

I always check my junk mail, hardly any point in separating it, but I've not found anything.

I'll doublecheck my spam filter, but I haven't seen anything there last time I checked.

But I live in Moscow, am not really up for dealing with my ISP on this, too much of a pain.

It's almost certainly not an ISP issue, unless they delete messages before they even get into your account. Never mind, the automatic emails are the only benefit I can think of for playing server games, but we've still got old style.

ISP will routinely actively filter spam that they have decided is spam, unfortunately, giving the end user no chance to tell them it's not. This happens because there are many many seperate and different organisations all keeping their own blacklists, and all retained by different ISPs. Frankly it's a nightmare!

Just a note that I will try and get a WitE version of the automated tray tool done today, which means that you can get informed of turns even if the emails are failing to get through.

Cheers
