Major Bug that simply breaks the game

Post by TheDespot »

This bug has been a problem since at least the first retail version of the expansion. I have reported this bug before but as yet it has not been fixed. At present it is possible to end a war even if you are losing it badly. If an empire declares war upon you your diplomats (assuming you have suggestions allowed) will ask you to "cancel your deal" with the invading empire. By selecting yes the war always ends automatically without any negotiations at all. This is truly game breaking and is very common indeed (it has happened in all of my games so far).

I have also noticed a number of other bugs. In the present games a colony of mine was invaded by another empire even though I was not at war with them, yet again a serious problem.

Please fix these bugs as they are game breaking, I think both are serious and cannot imagine that an official patch could possibly release with the glaring bugs.

This is not a bug. You were just "shoved". You gonna take it or shove back? And, you can do unto others the same, but be prepared ....and you will take a reputation hit.

Hi TheDespot, is that war canceling issue with Return of the Shakturi or the original Distant Worlds, and with which version please?

Ah, yes I've seen this in DW vanilla several times now. Except I didn't "cancel the treaty". During war with the Boskara I was asked several times by my advisers if I want to cancel the treaty with them, even though I was at war. It seems the war state is regarded as a treaty by the game engine. So indeed, this issue has been around since the original, and apparently still is in ROTS. My DW version is the latest, 1.0.6

Cheers

I agree with Solops, the second one is not a bug while the first one can be considered one. I don't think it will be fixed in this next official one but at least we do have a workaround for it, I would not consider it game breaking.
