Messages to Imperial General HQ, February 27th 1942:

From: RADM Tanaka, 2nd Carrier Strike Force, aboard CV Kaga

Emperor,
We have sunk two more Allied ships near Mataram. One AKL and an KV.

================================================================

From: RADM Takenaka, 23rd Air Flotilla, Rabaul

Emperor,
The Allies are retreating from Horn Island. We now report only 10 units at the island. Transports are present. They have increased their fighter cap though and our Zero's are nicely shooting them down one by one. We are going to let them retreat from the island so we can take it in the near future.
