Super fast combat animations

Post by aoffen »

I am playing a pbem team game and having problems when I want to watch the combat animations. The messages underneath the animation shoot through at 0 delay and are virtually unreadable. I have increased the message delay on my saved game file and my opponent who processes the turn has done the same. His messages seem to go slower now, but mine just keep on coming at blitzkrieg speed. Anyone know how to slow them down?

Speed of animations should be under the viewing player's control and should be recorded when you save your turn (was fixed in earlier patch).
Attach your zipped save here and I'll hae a look.

Thanks for the offer and I know I sound like a complete nong but how do I attach a file to the forum. It only seems to accept JPEG files. Can you pm me your email address and I'll email it to you.

You can't change the settings on the replay, you need to do it to an orders save.

Can you send me the file you got back with the replay ie the turn you use to add your orders to.

Is this a 4-way game?

I updated the delays and saved the turn.
Cleared the settings in my preferences.
Then reloaded it and the settings remained as I had changed them in the save.

Here is my re-save of the save. See if the settings stayed.

Michael

Thanks for the help. It is a 4 player game.

The preference changes were still there but that was pretty well the same as I did. I increased air vs naval, naval vs naval and sub vs naval to 1.0 sec and saved before sending the finalized turn. It didn't seem to make any difference. Did you do do anything different to changing the settings in the preference menu?

Do I need to increase the generic message delay as well I wonder?

We actually finished that turn last night so I couldn't use it sorry. If you don't mind I will send you the latest tonight after I get it back and get you to try again. I also noticed we are using v1.0.6.1108c and it was saved under v1108k. Do I need to be concerned about that?

Nothing different.
The general message delay should be increased too.
Don't worry about the save version as I just load and save using my latest. The 1108c is the last good beta, the other is in short-term testing.[:D]
