Heroes of Stalingrad. 'Odds'

Post by Ken7 »

I'm just wondering what the odds are that this game will ever get to the computer? My odds are low. What are your odds? If the game does make it to the computer I will definately be buying it.

Ask Gunhawk hehe [8D]
My opinion, I'd say more than 50%, but I'm ever optimistic. Mark obviously is not dependant on the release of HoS, he's making his money elsewhere. Still, my guess is they are still working on it with a small team, and having already invested in it I don't expect them to shelve it.
I stayed pretty confident they'd release Duke Nukem some day too, throughout the years and throughout all the setbacks I still had confidence they would release it someday... and they did, after *eleven years!* [:D]
Okay, 75% it gets released. My 2 cts.

C'mon man. We aren't *against* each other, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, and I wouldn't flame you for any reason, but if he wants to know the odds it should be noted that there is no preview game. No updates. No discussion from the developers. No discussion from beta testers. No discussion from Matrix. No discussion at gaming sites. No word from Walker saying that it's still alive. So at the moment the odds are that there will be no game and Walker isn't doing a damned thing to make us think otherwise.

i see how you could think after all this work invested that they would push through to completion. my feeling at this point is quite the opposite actually. i think they may now realize the amount of work involved in dealing with bugs, patches etc. and may decide its not worth it. i hope i'm wrong. personally, i wouldn't touch this game until its proven that patching and updating will be consistent-all signs point to this being unlikely. i really can't believe this was announced six years ago!

that's great. it's still a bit strange for a professional to have such an information policy.
i like how O'Keets is handling his World in Flames project: this goes on a lot longer, but he takes the time to do very detailed monthly reports.

>>HOS continues to move forward strongly. I hope to have it out by Origins.<<

The operative word here is "hope". Walker also "hoped" to have it out in 2009 as he stated in an interview. Are we really supposed to believe that it's going to be out by June of this year? That's 3 months away! Would anybody like to make a bet on this? If we can get some trustworthy member of this group to hold the money via Paypal I am willing to bet 50 American dollars that we will *not* see this game published and on sale by Origins 2011. Any takers?

I'll pass on the offer Gunhawk [:)] I'd have to put my money on your side. I just bought the CoH games ATB,SOS AND POH. Very nice and playable board games. I'll wait for the computer version of those
