Which WIF (all options in play) land unit am I?

- I am an army unit and have a counter in WIF
- This famous corps counter appears in the force pool of the country concerned two years after this unit was formed in real life.
- WIF has me designated as an armoured corps, although in most of my campaigns and battles I was largely (and in some cases, entirely) an infantry corps.
- I am a British Army corps

I can't be bothered to read all 68 pages of this (though I did get through 10 or so) so sorry if these have already been asked.

1. What two US submarines were confirmed to have sunk themselves?

2. What US submarine hit its target with 13 of 13 torpedoes and failed to sink its target?
Only one third of them answered and no more guesses. Any hints in the offing?

I am going with XXX Arm Corps.

XXX corps is the correct answer [:)].

No doubt ADG used the armoured symbol due to the corp's make-up in the last campaigns of the war Inc Operation Market Garden.

1. I was named after a whitefish common to the Great Lakes.

2. It varies in a couple accounts of the action, it should have read 13 of 15 (first salvo two of four hit).

a. My Commanding Officer's, Lt Cmdr L.R. (Dan) Daspit, collected evidence was largely responsible for exposing the bug with the Mk. 6 exploder's firing pin on the Mk. 14 torpedo.

b. Sank a 400 ton sampan in unusual fashion after resisting attempts to sink with gunfire, by dousing with fuel oil and then tossing flaming, oil-soaked rags on the deck!

c. I was named after a type of jack.

No, not the Ise. I'll dive straight in with the third clue.
