Here's one to cheer you up, Yuri:

The commanding officer at the Russian military academy (the equivalent of a 4-star general in the U.S.) gave a lecture on Potential Problems and Military Strategy. At the end of the lecture, he asked if there were any questions.

An officer stood up and asked, "Will there be a third world war? And will Russia take part in it?"

The general answered both questions in the affirmative.

Another officer asked, "Who will be the enemy?"

The general replied, "All indications point to China."

Everyone in the audience was shocked. A third officer remarked, "General, we are a nation of only 150 million, compared to the 1.5 billion Chinese. Can we win at all, or even survive?"

The general answered, "Just think about this for a moment: In modern warfare, it is not the quantity of soldiers that matters but the quality of an army's capabilities. For example, in the Middle East we have had a few wars recently where 5 million Jews fought against 150 million Arabs, and Israel was always victorious."

After a small pause, yet another officer - from the back of the auditorium asked, "Do we have enough Jews?"

You'll be gratified to know that I heard that one in Russian. A great example of Odessa humor. [:D]

There was also one from the 60s that I cant remember in its entirety but the punchline was that China won the 3rd World War after 50 million Chinese surrendered and Russia ran out of places to put them all.

Evening tithe.

Leaving for a two week CAX. Unsure of Internet accessability. Have fun friends, and in my absence please (pick one);

1/ Have a good discussion on what the psychological impact would be, showing kids the T Toe of Doom.
2/ PM stuman and ask for tax tips
3/ Keep watch on our new (warspite1) master faberist.
4/ Help Steve keeping the Hippies off his lawn.
5/ Have a good natured discussion on which tank, Sherman or Panther, that was the best one.
6/ Post pictures of anything but girls clad in Dental Floss bikinis.
7/ Choose your own.

[:'(][:D]

Laters, Friends.

ETA: 8/ Call sprior 'sir" at least one time/day while at the same time moving between different locations in case he invents a way to stab you over the Internet [:'(][;)]

Hi all,

Oh my... [X(]
Accident: Atlantic Southeast CRJ2 near Little Rock on Apr 1st 2011, bird strike

An Atlantic Southeast Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N845AS performing flight EV-5087/DL-5087 from Atlanta,GA to Little Rock,AR (USA) with 49 people on board, was on approach to Little Rock about 15nm east of the aerodrome when the airplane collided with a flock of cranes. The crew climbed back to 4000 feet, overflew the airport before safely landing at Little Rock about 30 minutes later. The airplane received substantial damage with a crane embedded in the nose cone.

Arkansas frequently sees Whooping Cranes (Grus americana) and Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis), adult bird weighing up to 17 lbs/7kg with a wingspan of up to 8 feet/2.5 meters.
