CAP altitude

Post by Droop21 »

Hi,

I was wondering how the CAP altitude influenced the air to air combat, especially in regards on how well it fare against different types of attacks (torpedo, dive-bombing, level-bombing...). Do you have any favored altitude tocounter special types of attacks?

Cheers,

I put my zeros at 18,000 feet. That should be higher than any strike sent against my task force so my fighters won't have to worry about climing to altitude to engage.

My understanding is that CAP too low have to climb to attack -- not good. CAP too high may not "see" the incoming, reducing effectiveness.

In bases where I have multiple squadrons covering CAP, I stage them at different altitudes -- some low, some high.
